Changes to Electronic Newsletter: Issuu Subscription Discontinued October 2026

While our monthly newsletter will still be available for download, MassLandlords will no longer subscribe to the digital publication platform Issuu after October 2026. Publishing through Issuu allowed users to virtually page through a PDF version of our monthly newsletter like a physical magazine.

Data shows that few of our subscribers utilized the platform. Most members read newsletter content either through email or by downloading an electronic copy from our website.

Furthermore, technology company Bending Spoons purchased the digital publishing platform in July 2024. Since then, pricing changes and third-party ads have significantly changed the user experience. One article from The Magazine Production Company reported 450% price hikes and the inability to download prior published material without paying additional money to the company.

The buyout also came with a sharp uptick in the number of third-party companies that user data could be shared with. And according to various social media platforms, customer service has been lackluster since the buyout.

We continued to work with the company for two years after the buyout, but it simply isn’t worth the cost anymore, especially given our relatively low member engagement with the platform.
