Why not just ask people to chat with AI?
AI is prevalent now because it is mostly accurate and essentially free. But nothing can prepare you to talk to real people other than actually talking to a real person. People laugh, misunderstand, misspeak, mishear, ask questions, exchange non-verbal cues, and have different accents. Your Spanish will be much more useful having practiced with a real person.
If David is from Argentina, and Massachusetts Spanish speakers are largely from Puerto Rico, will I learn the wrong dialect of Spanish?
No, David is a trained professional and avoids using native Argentina vocabulary or accent unless a student requests it. He will teach common Spanish that will be recognized globally. He can help you localize your vocabulary for Mexico, Spain or the Caribbean (Puerto Rico) on request.
Do MassLandlords lessons pair well with Babbel or Duolingo?
We encourage you to use a variety of means to learn Spanish. Our lessons are separate. You are welcome to bring questions you have from Babbel or Duolingo material. We have seen much of it before. We can usually answer questions about it.
What software is used to teach lessons?
All lessons are Zoom calls. Video is recommended to help us identify when we need to change pace. Optionally, we can show you how to add what you learn to Anki. Anki is a tool to practice and remember. Anki use is not required.
