EV Charger (for Electric Vehicles)
Learn about whether your rental housing should offer one or more electric vehicle (EV) chargers. This could be as simple as a dryer outlet.
Why electric vehicles? For starters, they’re smooth rides with thrilling acceleration. They also tend to have fewer mechanical parts to break than an internal combustion engine. Plus, they don’t emit smelly exhaust or greenhouse gases. More renters are choosing electric vehicles.
Even though Massachusetts already has thousands of public chargers across the state, charging slowly at home on AC (alternating current) is often better for the car battery than fast DC (direct current) charging on the road. Plus, it’s one less stop to make. So renters with electric vehicles prefer to see apartment listings with an EV charger.
