How Many Units Do We Own and Manage?

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's annual units survey!

We learned that MassLandlords.net members own on average 16 units. Half our members own six or fewer units. Some own hundreds. 

Some of us own a lot as investors, but do not manage our properties ourselves. Others manage a lot, but do not own the properties ourselves. Over half of us both own and manage.

We will use this data internally to make sure we have services that cater to landlords both large and small, both managers and investors and DIY types.

How Many Units Total?

As an association, we touch between 16,000 and 21,000 residential units in Massachusetts. That's a lot of homes!

Overall, this data will reinforce our relevance when talking with service providers and state and local officials.
