Summer Barbecue Successful, Despite Heavy Rain

This year's MassLandlords.net summer barbecue drew over 60 landlords from Worcester, Cambridge, Marlborough, and Haverhill despite the "100% chance" of rain in Wednesday's forecast. This was the 30th annual barbecue to be held by the Worcester Property Owners Association, and the first time the event was open to the public.

Some attendees elected to support the Worcester Art Museum's Knights! exhibit, which features a select fraction of the former Higgins Armory collection.  Struck catering provided the food, and Barnabas Mentar provided a smooth jazz and reggae performance.

The event was notable for its having brought together leadership from around the state, including Krystine Hetel of the Massachusetts Rental Housing Association, Skip and Lenore Schloming of the Small Property Owners Association, Sherri Way of the Metro West Property Owners Association, and Jane Gasek, Sandra Katz, and Doug Quattrochi of the Worcester Property Owners Association.

Sponsorship of the event was provided in part by the Worcester Lowes ProServices team and by Andy Faust at Northeast Insurance.  Also prominently in attendance were new MassLandlords.net Silver Advertisers Bette O'Reilly and Dana Spooner of Commerce Bank.
