Mobile Housing that Slot into High Rises
| Posted in Architecture, News - 0 Comments
.As reported by Tech Insider, the city of Austin, TX is now the playground of an entrepreneur with a bold idea for mobile housing. Prefab metal structures with large glass windows look on the inside like space-aged homes.
On the outside they are designed to be slotted into high-rise or multi-story buildings. Water, electrical, and sewer are presumably hooked up with as much effort as two Lego bricks (we don't actually know, but it probably wouldn't be more complicated than a camper).
The space-age interior has smart tech built into the walls. You can unroll your bed or adust the lighting with a voice command.
And with the push of a button on your phone, you can order your home to be extracted and carried to a compatible high-rise in another part of the town.
Tired of your neighbors? Need a change of scenery? No need to pack, just sit down and read while a crane and big rig lift you effortlessly onto the highway and toward your new address.
Just make sure not to move before your groceries get delivered.
