Security Deposit Receipt
When you first take a security deposit, issue the Move-in Money Receipt. Then as soon as possible, no more than 30 days after receiving the deposit, visit the bank to open the security deposit account and issue the Security Deposit Receipt below.
The person taking the deposit must be either the landlord or his or her named agent. For instance, if you have your manager take the deposit, the manager must put their name on the receipt and sign it.
