Preparing Notices to Quit

This presentation reviews notices to quit, possibly the number one source of errors when attempting to access rental assistance or summary process (eviction). Attendees will learn about:

  • The CARES Act and how it remains in effect for "federally covered" buildings
  • 7-day notices
  • 14-day notices
  • 30-day notices
  • 90-day notices and other notices sent to occupants that do not fit the definition of "tenant"

Attendees will learn why hiring an attorney is a good idea, or if you have to go it alone, how to increase your chances of successfully drafting and serving a notice.

The Worcester Housing Court is an imposing greek revival edifice in downtown Worcester.
Notices to quit are your key to rental assistance or possession.
