We have two candidates nominated and accepted for Board of Directors. One will be elected at our annual business meeting and annual election. Each candidate was asked to provide a 300-word statement of credentials and vision. Below are the statements each has provided.

As MassLandlords expands across the state, it is vital that every member participate in governance even if you do not attend a local event series.

Michele Kasabula

“I have been a Mass Landlord member since 2014 and been on the Board of Advisors for the last two years. I am a Massachusetts real estate attorney. Have been an attorney since 2002 and started my own law office in 2017, known as The Law Office of Michele F. Kasabula, PLLC located in Sutton, MA. I represent Buyers, Seller and Lenders in both Residential transactions and small Commercial Real Estate purchase and refinance transactions. I also perform most of the real estate titles exams for those purchase transactions.

“I own 3 single family rental properties on the south shore. I was also asked to manage one of my client’s rental properties which consisted of 4 6-unit buildings (24 units). I was the main contact for any and all issues. I also handled the remodeling of the units which increased the rental income by over 50% on some of the units.
“I enjoy doing what I do because I help my clients obtain a home for their family or obtain investment properties. I go out of my way to accommodate my client’s schedule with all aspects of the transaction.

“Communication with all parties to the transaction and keeping them informed of the process keeps everyone happy and relaxed with the transaction. My work involves a high degree of confidentiality.

“I am a member Real Estate Bar Association and a member and the Vice Chair of the BBB of Central Mass, a Title Agent for Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co. and a Massachusetts Real Estate Broker. I believe my background can be an asset and assist the Mass Landlords organization and would be glad to contribute serve if requested.”

David Poles

“Growing up in Hyde Park, MA, Dave lived in a duplex with his 3 siblings and parents who also owned the house. He saw first hand, both the pros and cons of being a landlord. His parents were vocal about both:) Since then, he has enjoyed learning about and doing effective property management. He has also have been able to to share his experiences and known resources with others which has also been satisfying. Dave is committed to providing dignified housing options to all his tenants who he refers to as residents. From 205 to 2011, he co-owned a duplex in West Newton, MA. From 2015 to present, he has owned property in Fitchburg, MA currently owning two fully occupied triplex properties. Dave attempts to be as active as possible in Masslandlords by going to both Worcester and Fitchburg meetings when he can. Dave considers himself to be a lifelong learner who enjoys helping others along the way.

“Dave is committed to being a lifelong learner and helping others. If elected to the board, this will be his vision.”
