4th monday

This presentation will review "civil process" (as opposed to "criminal") to serve an eviction notice. This includes the notice to quit, the summons and complaint, and notice of Tier 1 event. We will cover:

  • New Housing Court standing orders that will require two services.
  • Expiration of Chapter 257 (and its return?)
  • How using a constable or a sheriff can create increased proof in court.
  • And more!

Attendees will leave knowing how to serve an eviction notice compliantly under the new Housing Court orders effective June 5.

The AAA constable service website shows that they serve summons, executions and probate, and offer employment and seminars in addition to other services.

AAA Constable Service (Constable Jason Burke and Office Manager Helene Bushnell) based in Lowell but offering statewide coverage will be presenting.

A person holds a piece of paper up to a door to tape it there. The paper says 'notice' across the top.

Is this good enough? Probably not unless you are a constable or sheriff. Find out how civil process service works.

Part of this event will be presented by AAA Constable Service. They are based in downtown Lowell but have statewide reach. They serve eviction notices (and can help you prepare them) and complete physical evictions. They keep up to date on changing laws and court procedure and have helped MassLandlords members serve notices and regain possession of their property many times since 1991.

Erin Zamarro of A.A. Zamarro Realty will moderate networking time.
You can volunteer for a future event.

Networking time for this event will be moderated by Erin Zamarro. Erin is a real estate broker in Worcester, operating since 2008. She is a member of MassLandlords and the National Association of Realtors. Erin frequently works with buyers and sellers of multifamily or investment properties, as well as assisting property owners with rentals. She owns 8 units in Worcester.

Thanks for providing all the details about the online events! It’s great to know the distinction between virtual meetings and webinars, and the information about participation options and recording is helpful. The virtual registration desk opening an hour before the event is a nice touch, and the live assistance for sign-in is a valuable resource.
